FAQ

Questions

Top 5

Does it work?

Yes! We've spent years developing motion and feedback algorithms targeted at truly helping your game, unlike others on the market. Other training aids are just looking for a quick cash grab or are happy to keep selling you the same product repeatedly without making it any better.

Don't believe us? Just look at what one of our beta testers said: "Since using the CTRL Swing Master, my average score was 112-115. Now it is 105, and for the first time, I shot under 100." - Jeff R.

And if that's not enough, we offer a 90-day money-back guarantee. Improve, or send it back free of cost and no questions asked.

We're dedicated to supporting the CTRL Swing Master with frequent updates based on your feedback. Let us know what you'd like to see at community@ctrl.golf!

What does knowing my tempo, path, and face do for me?

If you know where your ball is going to land, you're going to get lower scores.

Tempo is the most critical factor of your swing, it is the glue that holds everything together.

"This number (tempo) varies from player to player... What isn't important here is not the specific tempo, but the consistency." - Trackman

With centered contact, face and path determine almost everything else.

"Face angle is the most important number when determining the starting direction of the golf ball. The ball will launch very closely to the direction the club face (face angle) is pointed at impact." - Trackman

"The club path is part of what influences the curvature of the shot." - Trackman

If you have the same face, path, and tempo, the ball will do the same thing every time.

How is this better than other swing training aids?

We deliver more types of feedback than anyone else in the wearable swing training aid market. You won't find others providing feedback on your tempo, clubface, and club path.

Rather than feeding you a bunch of numbers you'd need a coach by your side interpreting, we tell you in simple sentences how to get to your best swing every time.

We adapt to what makes your best swing, your best. Just look at the PGA Tour Pros to understand that everyone has their own unique swing. If the best in the world aren't all aiming for the exact same tempo, clubface, and club path, why would you listen to a training aid that tells you to?

When you swing with the CTRL Swing Master, you'll get instructions specific to the timing, clubface, and club path that work best for your swing.

How do I pick the right sleeve size?

Our motion sensors are very sensitive. Without the right size, we cannot trust the data being recorded. Simply put, garbage in, garbage out.

The most important measurement is your bicep when measuring yourself according to the size chart. Correct sizing ensures that the sleeve does not fall down your arm and the sensors remain in place when swinging.

The 2nd most important measurement is the length. The sleeve must come up past your elbow to ensure the placement of the 2nd sensor is correct.

If you have any questions about sizing, please contact us at community@ctrl.golf and we'll give you a size recommendation!

Questions

Commonly Asked

Can I integrate CTRL directly with my golf simulator?

CTRL does not currently support direct integration with any golf simulators. CTRL can significantly enhance your experience with your simulator by helping you learn the swings that get you to the numbers you want.

I'm a coach. Can I use this with my students?

Absolutely! While there is no dedicated “coach” mode, CTRL can help your students lock in their training and take the lesson you both practiced with them until they see you again. In the future, we look forward to collaborating with you and creating a fully-fledged coach-mode.

Is CTRL available for left-handed users?

Absolutely! CTRL automatically recognizes the handedness of the user and delivers feedback accordingly.

Is there any discount for PGA members?

Unfortunately, we cannot do that right now on Indiegogo. Post campaign, we will be polling our backers for their PGA status. We’d love to get in touch with you about how we can grow and work together.

Is there a monthly subscription to use CTRL?

Nope! We’ve rolled all of our original plans for CTRL premium directly into the app for free, forever! Initially, we did not think we would be able to support unlimited swings to train to and statistics without a monthly subscription to help support the additional cloud usage, but we’ve since solved that issue. We’re currently in the exploratory phase for a future CTRL Premium offering, and we’d love to hear what you’d like to see added!

What size of the sleeve is right for me?

We offer nine different unisex sizes to ensure that every individual can get the size that best works for them. Please see our sizing chart at checkout to find what works for you!

Will the units come in different colors?

We are not offering different colors at this time. We’re a small team focused on delivering the most robust product we can. We are considering different colors for the future.

Questions

App

Can I delete my swings?

When inside a training session, you will have the ability to skip saving an individual swing when the app asks you, “How did the ball fly?”. Additionally, once a Swing Baseline is created, you will have the ability to delete all the data associated with this Swing Baseline and its corresponding swings. This action is irreversible.

Can I use CTRL with my mobile device?

CTRL can be used with iOS 13+ and Android 5+ (API 21)

Can more than one player use the same app?

Yes. Another player can create a swing baseline on your device, but the training will be specific to them. However, their swing baseline will be associated with whatever account is currently logged into the app.

How do I complete a firmware update?

Upon connecting to a sensor, the app will check to see if there is an available firmware update. If so, you will be prompted with a pop up to update your firmware. Please ensure your sensors are charged or charging when you begin the firmware update. During the update, your sensor LED will turn off. This behavior is expected. When the firmware update is complete, the sensor will reboot and enter standby. The sensor must be connected to again manually.

You may decline this update, but it is highly recommended to perform this update if it is available. If you encounter a problem, force quit the application and try again. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

I can't create a new account. What should I do?

Ensure that your device is connected to the internet. Before an account can be entirely created, the account’s email will need to be verified. Suppose you are unable to create an account. In that case, you may have already tried to create an account and need to verify your email. Check your email inbox for a verification link from CTRL. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

I can't log into my account. What should I do?

Ensure the email and password are correct. Note that the email and password fields are case sensitive. Ensure you are connected to the internet if you just installed the app. If you forgot your password, you could click on the “Forgot Password” on the Sign In screen. Follow the instructions on the email that was sent to you to reset your password. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

Why is the app calibrating for the wrong arm?

If the app is calibrating for the opposite arm (left or right handed) then the sensors are not placed correctly on the sleeve.

Please ensure your sensor LEDs are pointed down toward the ground when your arm is held straight by your side. Then move begin the calibration process again.

Questions

Sensors

Can I swing too fast?

CTRL uses high g, high-speed sensors capable of monitoring whatever motion you throw at it.

Why isn't my sensor charging?

Please check:

1. The charging cable magnetic tip is lit up blue.

2. The back of the charging stand has a green light showing through the back.

3. That you have twisted your sensor clockwise into the charging stand.

The sensor will begin to charge when the LED begins breathing orange.

If you have any issues with the above, please reach out to community@ctrl.golf!

How do I turn the sensor on or off?

The sensors will automatically turn themselves off after 30 seconds of not being active and not connected. To turn them back on, simply double-tap the sensor.

My sensor doesn't connect to the app, what should I do?

Check to make sure the sensor LED is on. If not, double-tap the sensor to turn it on and then try connecting. If the sensor did not turn on, it might have run out of battery. Insert the sensor into the charging stand to charge it. If the sensor LED is on and is still not connecting, force close the app and try again. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

What do the LED's on my sensor mean?

White LED – The sensor is on and on standby.
Red LED – The sensor is under 15% battery.
Green LED – The sensor is above 90% battery.
Blue LED – The sensor is connected to a device.
Orange LED – The sensor is charging on the charging stand.
Green (solid) LED – The sensor is fully charged and on the charging stand.

Why isn't my swing being captured?

The sensor may have missed the swing; try swinging again. If the problem persists, force close the app and try again. The sensor may also have a poor Bluetooth connection. Ensure that your device is nearby. Additionally, try disconnecting any other Bluetooth devices (such as wireless headphones) that may be slowing down Bluetooth communication with the sensors. Another option is to leave the session you are in, disconnect, reconnect the sensor, and try swinging again.

Why is my sensor LED steady white?

A white LED that is not fading in and out indicates that the sensor is in update mode.

Please place the sensor on the charging stand, close and reopen the CTRL golf application. The app will automatically connect to the sensor and begin the update process.

If the app does not automatically connect, then press 'pair new sensor'

Why does my sensor report 0% battery even when I've charged it?

This is a visual bug only. The sensor will operate as normal even when reporting 0%.

To fix the issue

1. Place the sensor off the charging stand.

2. Let the sensor sit for 30 seconds until it falls asleep.

3. Double-tap the sensor to wake it up.

4. The proper battery percentage will now be reporting when you connect.

My sensors turned off, what happened?

Do not worry! This is not a battery issue. Instead, this is normal behavior for the sensors. Once disconnected from Bluetooth, the sensors will automatically fall asleep after 30 seconds.
